Vivek P. Vasuki, MD

Education

Dr. Vasuki earned his BS degree in Neuroscience at Emory University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.  He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina where he held numerous leadership positions. Dr. Vasuki completed his internship in internal medicine at Carolinas Medical Center/UNC Chapel Hill.  He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia.

Professional

Dr. Vasuki has been published in Ophthalmology, Clinical Ophthalmology, and Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science magazines. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has given presentations at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

Procedures and Care

Dr. Vasuki manages complex medical and surgical eye disease. His specific areas of interest include small-incision and bladeless femto laser cataract surgery as well as treatment of dry eye that has not responded to conventional therapies.
