Dr. Tracy Ray, a native of Tabor City, NC, completed his undergraduate pre-optometry studies at East Carolina University. He went on to obtain his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN in 1987. He completed externships at Womack Hospital at Fort Bragg, NC, and in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association.
Dr. Ray joined Dr. Hoyt Housand in Loris in 1988 and purchased the practice a few years later. He has served the eye care needs of Loris and the surrounding communities for over 35 years. Dr. Ray and Loris Eye Associates are excited to unite with Carolinas Centers for Sight. This merger will allow us to expand our services, better serve our patients, and continue in growth and care for the Loris community.
Dr. Ray has also served his community in various civic groups, booster clubs, and church activities. He is an elder at Loris First Presbyterian Church and has served as director of the Upward sports program. Dr. Ray also served as past chairman of the board of Loris Healthcare System and currently serves on the McLeod Regional Healthcare board of trustees.
When Dr. Ray is not seeing patients, he enjoys backpacking and hiking, as well as watching sports. He lives in Loris with his wife, also named Tracy, daughter Jaclyn, and twin sons, Bryant and Mckinley.
