Dr. Newman moved to Hartsville, SC in 1980 where he joined the practice of Dr. Howard Tucker. Dr. Newman is a member and has held several administrative and teaching positions for St. Luke United Methodist Church. He has been a past member and held several offices for the Hartsville Jaycees. Dr. Newman served a three-year term on the Board of Directors of the Hartsville United Way. He is a current member and past president of the Hartsville Rotary Club where he was also named a Paul Harris Fellow, Rotarian of the Year, and 10 Star Rotarian. Dr. Newman has served six years as a board member of the Hartsville Red Cross. He is also a current member of the national American Optometric Association. He has locally been a member and twice President of the Pee Dee Optometric Association. Dr. Newman was selected as one of America’s top Optometrists in 2002-2003. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees for the Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center since 1991. He has been Chairmen of that board from 1996 to the present day. Dr. Newman has enjoyed each and every day in Hartsville and looks forward to treating the eyes of this beautiful city for many years to come.
